Staff Accountant Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of financial records across the organization.

This Staff Accountant role supports daily accounting operations including financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and internal accounting processes.

The ideal Staff Accountant candidate is detail oriented, systems savvy, and comfortable handling confidential financial data.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

• Recording financial transactions including credit card sales, PayPal sales, and checks
• Preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate accounting records
• Monitoring and managing accounts receivable
• Processing refunds and supporting internal teams with financial transactions
• Preparing daily sales reports and weekly financial reports
• Maintaining cash position and cash flow reporting
• Recording deposits and reconciling bank accounts
• Supporting month end close processes
• Assisting with accounts payable functions when needed
• Maintaining electronic financial documentation
• Assisting with development of accounting procedures and internal controls
• Supporting year end accounting preparation
• Completing special accounting projects as assigned

Staff Accountant Qualifications

Successful Staff Accountant candidates will have:

• 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or corporate accounting experience
• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Cost accounting experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas
• Experience with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or QuickBooks preferred
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
